Hello, I’m Celeste.
I entered the world of applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy over 12 years ago and fell in love with the way autistic children learn and navigate in the world.
In 2017 I worked as a one-on-one therapist. One evening I sat with a mom and her preschool-aged son at his child-sized table in their living room. The mom looked up at me the last few minutes of our ABA session and quietly chuckled, “He works so well with you. He listens to you but never listens to me!”
She was right.
I could hear the defeat in her voice.
I remember thinking, how could I have forgotten to transfer to this mom, the strategies I’m using to teach her son? She is capable of doing everything I’m doing if only she was just taught how.
Throughout my years working in the field of ABA, I've noticed a common trend: many parents of children with special needs often feel lost or unprepared when it comes to supporting their child, and traditional ABA therapy models doesn’t always equip parents.
Today, my passion as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certificate is empowering parents of autistic children with the ability on how to teach their child new skills and feel confident doing it.
